Type: Close Up
Habitat Description: River / Wetland
Natural History Information: The Indian River is a community improvement project agreed upon by the hydroelectric corporation to secure community support. It is a four season trail. In the winter it can be used as a cross country track. It covers 3 miles along the island. The trail includes a instinct and working sandstone quarries, log boom anchors, and remnants of the Hannawa-Potsdam RailRoad which was used to transport lumber in the past.
Interest: I found it interesting that even in the harsh late winter conditions this bug still had the ability to survive through the cold, snow, wind, and rain.
