Title: Boring Beetle Trail Bundles
Habitat: Forested area
Natural History: trail system also offers a unique variety of topography, woodlands, and tree plantations. Many different types of birds, plants, and wildlife can be viewed along an over 12 mile long trail. Dramatic rapids in this section of the river flow over waterfalls creating gorges, rock islands, overhanging cliffs, and potholes.
My interest: When looking at this particular picture, I was not sure what it was at first. When my professor explained to me they are trail markings of a woodboring beetle, it was very interesting. I do not get to see markings like this, as these types of animals are not encountered in my area.
