Lake
Sunrise on Sixth Lake
It was a very foggy morning, when the sun burst out brightly from behind the mountains.
An afternoon at the artificial wetland at SLU
We were preparing the General Biology TAs for next week's aquatic lab where we have our students use a Van Doren sampler, a zooplankton net, and a dissolved oxygen probe in lab to collect ecological data to compare SLU's artificial wetland and a nearby beaver pond (which is a little further away, on the Kip Tract).
I have been taking photos of some of activities that GB does in lab, but I like to capture the wildlife and biodiversity as well for future GB lectures (and for some photography practice, too!).
Early Morning at the Beaver Pond
I went for a walk to the beaver pond on the Kip Track. It was surprisingly cool after all this hot weather we've been having, and very misty. I saw some Canadian geese out in the mist, and heard a lot of other birds, including some chickadees. I saw some cool mushrooms on the trail in.
Camping at Cranberry Lake
It was perfect weather for camping! Sunny and warm we had a great time on the beach and swimming in the water. The sunset was gorgeous and we could not have asked for a better weekend.
Higley Flow Sunset
Ran down to catch this beautiful sunset on Higley Flow
Fishing In Colton
This trip was so fun because it was just my brother and two sisters on a boat at 5:00 in the morning!
Shaw Pond Sunrise
Sunrise at Shaw Pond, just outside of Long Lake, NY. It was a pretty cold spring morning when we got out to see if we could catch a sunrise and were fortunate enough on this day to get one.
Great Blue Heron sitting on the dock.
This Heron sat on our old dock near Ogdensburg, long enough for me to take several pictures.
