An Early Rise

Decided to wake up early before my cross country teammates were awake to see the sunrise while staying at Canaras for our preseason camp.

Snow geese rise up from Rotary Lake, Malone

Every fall, thousands of snow geese stop over in Malone for a few weeks before they migrate South. They cover the surface of Rotary Lake at Malone Rec Park. If you watch long enough, you can see them rise up together and fly off. They beat their wings against the water as they lift off and the thrum is incredibly loud, and magically beautiful.

Really April?

A chilly morning after an April snow but the birds are still in full spring mode!

Chapel Pond

My mom and I hung out at Chapel Pond this past weekend and we were surprised at how warm it was! We also noticed that most of the leaves were off the trees there. It was a beautiful morning.
