Papermaking with Plants
Imagine making paper from plants in your backyard! Guess what, you can! Come and explore the ancient art of papermaking with us this Saturday! In this workshop, you’ll learn about the entire papermaking process, from identifying effective paper making plants to making and decorating your own paper. We’ll provide all the materials. Community Paddle on the Little River
Looking to get out on the water? Join us for a relaxing evening paddling on the Little River in Canton. You can bring your own canoe or kayak, or borrow one from us for free. Never paddled before? No problem! We'll be happy to provide tips for newer paddlers. Meet at the Little River Boat Launch on Park Street/Rt. 27 in Canton at 6:30pm.
This event is part of our Summer Paddling Series. Join us on June 11th, June 25th, July 9th, July 20th and July 23rd for Evening Paddles.

Turtle
Found this turtle in our yard for 3-4 days in a row, one day she was digging in our driveway and I believe she laid eggs. We have blocked off the area in hopes that they will hatch!! My girls are so excited!!
White Pine Camp tour
We took advantage of the great weather to take a tour of the White Pine Camp at Paul Smiths. This served as the summer White House for Calvin Coolidge in the summer of 1926. The tour is great and the tour guide does an amazing job telling the story of the camp and its guests. It's well worth the trip, and they also rent the camps. http://www.whitepinecamp.com/

Meet our Summer 2019 Naturalist Interns!
Nature Up North is pleased to introduce our 4 summer naturalist interns, Emily, Val, Grace and Lydia. We are thrilled to have them working with us this summer to bring more public events, citizen science, and outdoor fun to the North Country community. Painted Turtle on Saddlemire Trail
This beautiful painted turtle was digging in the sand near one of the boardwalks on the Saddlemire Trail. Perhaps she was getting ready to lay eggs?
Bog River paddle
A classic Adirondack paddle up the Bog River from Low's lower dam to the upper dam, and Hitchen's Pond. We put in about 7 miles on the water, and a mile and a half exploring the ruins at the upper dam.
