Pride Outside Hike - Clear Pond Birding!

Join us for a hike and some virtual birding fun with Nature Up North and Potsdam Pride at Clear Pond, south of Parishville. Download the Merlin app (you'll need to make an account and then download the US Northeast bird pack) to participate in birding, or just come and hike with us! Bring water, breathable comfy clothes for the summer heat, and your longest rainbow socks to keep those ticks away. (Other long socks might work, too.) We'll meet at the trailhead at 1pm.

Spring Bird Walk on World Migratory Bird Day

Come and join Dr. Susan Willson, bird ecologist and SLU Assoc. Professor, and Eileen Wheeler, birder and ICNC Board member to celebrate the return of numerous species of migrant birds to the North Country. We’ll look for migrant birds (and residents) in forest and wetland habitat, as well as from the observatory deck. Binoculars are available to borrow. Be prepared for bugs and perhaps a little mud!

In this paddle, learn to identify some common frog and toad calls, or croaks, as we paddle along the Little River. While we go, we'll try to spot these critters along the shoreline. Some common calls we'll be listening for are spring peepers, bullfrogs. and American Toads.
