Jr Earth Keeper Club Meeting

Event date and time
July 12, 2014 - 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Jr Earth Keepers Club meets on Saturday, July 12th from 1 – 3pm. During the July club meeting, kids will learn all about birds including habitats, migration, and what makes a bird a bird. Using iPad apps and bird “Identi-flyers” kids will hear different bird calls and play bird games. Kids will take a guided hike and, using apps and/or guide books, identify the types of birds found on the trails. Findings can be documented with digital cameras and in journals. Photos will be uploaded onto the Jr. Earth Keepers Facebook page.

This event is part of the Jr. Earth Keepers Club, an environmental educational kid’s club which meets monthly, and provides regular incentives for learning and volunteering at the Nature Center. The Jr. Earth Keepers is a grant-funded program encouraging kids to get active outdoors and use fun, new technologies to help them discover an appreciation for the natural world.

Participants should meet at the trailhead at the Nature Center, and dress for weather. Contact the Nature Center at (315) 705-5022 or email ncrebirth@yahoo.com to register for the program. Children should be 5 – 12-years-old and have an interest in nature, and love outdoor activity.
