Landscape 1: Lampson Waterfalls

This is a wintery image taken during a hike at Lampson Falls in St. Lawrence county. Porcupines, otters and other small animals are found in the area surrounding the falls, making it a rich environment. The falls are part of the Adirondak park, surrounded by forest, so much of the trees found in the area are of the coniferous and hardword variety. The falls drop is an impressive 100 feet that roars even throughout the coldest of winters. Beaches along the bottom of the falls has created lots of recreation possibilities for its visitors. I enjoyed the contrast of the bright white ice and snow to the dark pines around the fall's perimeter in this picture.
