Burdock (Arctium Minus)

This is a picture of a plant species called Burdock (Arctium Minus) that I came across in the woods near St. Lawrence University. The surrounding environment is a hardwood forest with abundant small grasses and weeds. Burdock is a biennial species that was introduced to North America from Europe and has spread across most parts of the United States. I wanted to take a picture of this plant because it might be the most annoying species in the woods due to its hooked tips that attach to any type of clothing if you rub against it. It’s not necessarily interesting to me but every year I go hunting I tend to accumulate large amounts of Burdock on my clothing and have to continuously pick them off.
