Blue Reflections

I have been trying to get pictures of the Blue Herons that live on the Chaumont River for three summers, but they usually are very skittish and fly away into the woods before you can get close enough to them. This particular Saturday, my husband, myself and our Australian Cattle Dog, Talia went for a long boat ride in our little 12 foot boat up the Chaumont River from our cottage. This particular heron let us motor right up to him and then kept hopping from driftwood to driftwood all the way up the river. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture this beautiful bird and one I will never forget.

Cool! I've never gotten a good picture of a blue heron, and not for lack of trying.
