Sunny Memories

This weekend (January 29-31), I ventured out to southern Vermont and New Hampshire. There is still a fair amount of snow there. Upon returning to the saturated ground in Canton, I wanted to share a picture of sunnier weather and carefree adventures.
In August, I co-lead a canoe trip to introduce a group of soon-to-be freshmen to the Adirondacks and St. Lawrence University. Most of them had never canoed before and we began the trip with an extremely strong headwind on Upper Saranac Lake. Thankfully the wind changed direction upon reaching Follensby Clear Pond. We grouped the seven canoes together and used a camping tarp as a sail. This was the highlight of the trip!
Today, I am thinking about colder temperatures and some sun or snow as I look at the sky and question the unusual weather.
