Seward Range Wildlife

Spent a perfect summer day hiking Seward, Donaldson, and Emmoms last weekend. While there were nice views from Donaldson, I spent much of the day admiring the life on the forest floor. Toads were abundant, even above 4,000ft. From left to right: Red eft (juvenile Eastern Newt), American toad, White Admiral butterfly, Canadian bunchberry.

Thanks Jake! I especially like the first Toad picture, showing off his orange-ish sides. Looks like a great hike!

Great photos. I especially like the newt, the second toad, and the butterflies.

I have such a nostalgic love of newts and salamanders. I used to catch them and draw them as a kid (to be released promptly after.) Great photos!
