Spring Fairy House Clues

Spring Fairy House Clues

By Thimble & Blossom

Come visit our fairy homes! Each spring we migrate through the North Country on our way home for the summer. We live in the woods, where we spend our days bonding with birds, talking with trees, buzzing with bugs, and getting friendly with fungi. As you might guess, we've become expert naturalists. At any time between now and May 13th, find our homes using the clues below and leave notes with your nature questions inside. Please also leave your first name and age, so we can address you personally when we reply!

*visit natureupnorth.org/askafairy after May 15th to see our answers!

Fairy Clues:

Nicandri Nature Center, Massena

To find our home at the Nature Center,

First, find the green trail sign and enter.

Follow the path through the trees,

Near where the beavers work, busy as bees.

Just past the bench, take the trail to the right.

Our home under the tree is quite a sight!

Indian Creek Nature Center, Rensselaer Falls

Have you met our bird friends at Indian Creek?

They twitter all day, playing hide and seek.

Walk, hop, or skip towards the Marsh Overlook

A few steps in on the left a path leads to a nook.

Our house hides next to the moss-covered stone,

Once you find it write down what you wish to be known!

SUNY Canton Cross Country Trail (Island), Canton

Beyond the bridge, an island awaits.

There's no need to turn, keep going straight.

Our home is nestled along the trail,

Please visit us! We'd love some mail.

Look for a tree with trunks galore,

There you'll find what you search for!

By Thimble & Blossom

Thimble and Blossom are two traveling woodland fairies who love to migrate through the North Country on their way towards the tropical forests where they spend their winter. Thimble loves spending his time exploring the tops of trees and enjoys surfing down the falling leaves in autumn. Blossom likes to spend many of her afternoons befriending bees and butterflies in the forest. She also loves to take dewdrop baths every morning while listening to morning birdsong. Because they live in the woods, Thimble and Blossom have learned a lot about North Country plants and animals throughout the years. They're very excited to share their knowledge with you!
