Insect Inns: Building Hotels for Bugs!

Event date and time
June 17, 2023 - 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Bees, flies, beetles, moths, and more are busy bugs right about now - flying around, pollinating, and performing a host of ecosystem services! One popular way to invite these beneficial critters to your backyard is through what we’re calling “insect inns” but are also called bug hotels, insect hotels, and more. Join us Saturday, June 17th from 3:00 - 4:30 pm to learn a bit about the insects that these “hotels” can attract and why they’re important, the do’s and don’ts of building one, and then use the materials we provide to build your own “insect inn” to take home! This event is free and perfect for all ages. Youth under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. We’ll meet at the Wachtmeister Field Station off Route 27 in Canton. Stay as long as you are able! Reach out to info@natureupnorth.org or contact @natureupnorth on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with any questions.
