Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center--Bird Nest Rug Braiding Workshop

Event date and time
July 13, 2013 - 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Join local up north artist, Helen Condon, as she introduces participants to the art of rug braiding. She will show how to make beautiful braided bird nests complete with tiny eggs. These make wonderful Christmas tree decorations.

Helen Condon, owner of Adirondack Rug Braiding Company creates hand braided wool Adirondack rugs, baskets, wreaths and custom heirloom gifts from her Parishville, NY studio at the "The Grange." This historical site is now an ideal setting for the creation of hand braided Adirondack rugs, baskets and gifts that become family heirlooms. She has been braiding for over 50 years and was first taught by her grandmother. All products are made of wool and natural items.
