Wilmington Mountain Cooper Kiln Slide (aka Wilmington Slide)

Formed in 2011 by Tropical Storm Irene, this is a beautiful line up to the summit of Wilmington #1. A bushwhack down to Cooper Kiln Pond afterward makes a perfect addition for the adventurous. Of particular interest was our find of a gastropod fossil in limestone (glacial till) partway down the slide track. Cool differential weather in is photo 3 and a steep headwall tops it off, though it can be avoided via the woods.
