This image was taken at the Wild Center in Tupper Lake; I liked this image because the turtles were so calm under the heat lamp, I could get really close to them and they would not even move. I did not record the species of Turtle at the time the photo was taken but after doing some research I believe it have correctly identified it as a Red-eared slider. The red-eared slider is a semi-aquatic turtle which is a subspecies of the pond slider. It has become the most common species of turtle kept as a pet because they can be easily maintained. This turtle is native to the southern United States and northern Mexico but it can be found in many other region because it is an invasive species and has recently been put on the worlds list of the 100 most invasive species
