Plants in the Middle of Winter

Close-up/Plant Photo

At Stone Valley the weather was quite warm. Although there was snow on the ground the weather had been above freezing for several days, allowing this water cress to grow in the creek bed. This was in a hardwood forest but near a river. The creek that plants grew in was a tributary of the river. I was attracted to this photo because of the grey plants growing amidst the grey winter scenery.
