Snowy River
I was so excited when I woke up this morning to enough snow that I needed to wear my winter boots! Snow makes everything seem peaceful and serene to me, especially when you see it falling along the edges of the water, like in this photo.
Snow Came and Snow Left in Vermont
I went home for Thanksgiving Break in Castleton, Vermont. There was a weird change in weather from the beginning of vacation to the end. November 20th it was snowy and we got about 4 inches. Then about five days later it looked as if snow didn't even show up. The rain had made all the snow go away and made everything look muddy. I started my week off hiking through the snow with my chocolate lab and ended my week running on my dirt road that covered me in mud from the rain. Every time I go home from college it amazes me the view I have from my front porch.
A Flooded Grasse River
The accumulated rain in Canton over the course of the past three days, has lead to some exaggerated flooded of the Little and Grasse Rivers. Over two inches of rain in the past 48 hours have lead to an overflowing river system. With most of the ground already saturated, the water table has risen to a flood state, negatively impacting the recreational trails surrounding the waterways, but positively reseting the aquatic ecosystem for the future.

A Foggy View from Azure Mountain
Some friends and I decided to go for a hike up Azure Mountain, fully expecting it to sprinkle. We weren't expecting it to rain steadily throughout the hike, and when we got to the top it was so foggy you couldn't see over the edge. While I didn't get the view I expected, the fog made me feel like I was on the top of the world! The fact that we had towels in the car was an added bonus.
Scenes from 4 seasons @ Trout Lake
Winter deprives us of the reflection of the sky on the water. As the ice began to melt, this reflection reminded me of that lost beauty, like a memory of a loved one.
Scenes from 4 seasons @ Trout Lake
A very intense sunrise possibly created by smoke from wildfires out West lasted just about 3 minutes before it faded dramatically.
