Community Campfire - Night Sky Talk with Dave Prosper!

Event date and time
August 1, 2025 - 7:00 PM to August 1, 2025 - 9:00 PM

Join Nature Up North for a community campfire! This campfire will be put on with a collaboration from Potsdam Pride. They've asked a local community member, Dave Prosper, to lead participants on a night sky talk!

Dave Prosper has watched the skies since he was a kid in Northern New York. His curiosity became a passion that led to a career as a "professional amateur astronomer," showing the wonders of the sky  to people from locations like the hills and sidewalks of Oakland to the rim of the Grand  Canyon, and eventually back to his high school in Brushton, NY for the total solar eclipse of April 2024. One of the co-authors of "The Total Skywatcher's Manual" and the  "NASA's Night Sky Notes" article series, and former manager of NASA's Night Sky Network outreach program, Dave is always excited share the wonders of the night sky with curious folks everywhere.

We're excited to have Dave lead this wonderful topic and we hope to see you there too!
