7th Annual Earth Day 7k Trail Run/Walk

Event date and time
April 22, 2023 - 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Welcome back for another awesome trail race!

Nature Up North is excited to invite you to join us for the 7th Annual Earth Day 7K Trail Run & Walk on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, at 9:00 am. One of the few annual trail races in the North Country, proceeds from this race benefit local conservation and environmental education initiatives. This race marks 10-years of Nature Up North’s work in the North Country, and is the kickoff to two weeks of special, 10-year celebration events. You don’t want to miss it!

Runners begin at 9:00 am at Wachtmeister Field Station. Race day registration opens at 8:00 am. Runners times will be recorded and available after the event. Walkers are welcome to start the course anytime after 8:00 am, and are encouraged to begin by 8:30 am.

The flat 7 kilometer (approximately 4.4 miles) course connects the Kip and Saddlemire Trails at St. Lawrence University, passing through scenic forests and wetlands along the Little River. The flat terrain makes this course suitable for runners and walkers of all fitness levels. The course will be well marked, with volunteers at all major intersections. Short road segments connect the longer stretches of trail. Be prepared for a few muddy sections.

Join us after the race for awards, a prize raffle, and refreshments! A huge thank you to Coakley Home and Hardware for their generous race sponsorship!

And thank you to our prize donors: Coakley Home and Hardware, Kunoco, Newmanzone Maple, Potsdam Food Co-op, Raquette River Brewing, and Robideau's Mahogany Ridge! We're so appreciative of your donations that help make our post-race raffle so exciting!

The race fee is $25 for general admittance and $15 for students. Youth 12 and under are free. All proceeds for this event will benefit local conservation and environmental education projects in the North Country.

New this year: Our race swag will be Earth Day 7k reusable tote bags! Race tote bags will be available to all registered racers, including walkers. It’s important to be intentional with our purchasing power and what we consume - so, going forward, for returning racers who bring their tote bag to future ED7K's, we’ll fill it with goodies from local businesses! New racers will still be eligible for a bag. Early registration is appreciated.
