Plant: Wierd Fir Growth

This picture is from the large fir tree outside the student center on St. Lawrence campus. The area is fairly build up but has many trees out around the buildings. This picture is really interesting because of the growth formation of the needles of the tree. At first I thought it was a nest, but upon further inspection it is simply the way the tree grew. I chose this picture because it is really unique and I have never seen anything of the sort before.
