Street and Nye High Peaks
A few St. Lawrence ladies hit the trail for a nine mile day to summit Street and Nye Mountains on first Saturday back at SLU. It was a hot humid day but it was amazing to be back in the Adirondacks with good company. The trail starts out along Heart Lake, a clear blue/teal tinted lake nestled in between many of the high peaks. From there the trail becomes unmaintained but the constant foot traffic makes the trail easy to follow. Just before the summit of Nye there is a rock on the left side of the trail where we could look out for a great view of Wright, Algonquin, and Iroquois Peaks.

Wondering who is looking for the Pot O' Gold across the lake.
Scenes from 4 seasons @ Trout Lake
Waking up early, looking out the bedroom window to see a jaw dropping visual gift made me run for my phone to capture this memory. They usually are only there for a minute or so until the light changes.
Brant Lake Bliss
A misty morning with a baby that slept through the night and an early morning cup of joe with the lake all to myself. Swimming, cooking and hanging with friends just what the soul needs.
Beach Bliss
A beautiful day at the beach celebrating warm weather and summer freedom.
The Black Hole
Type: Misc/Landscape
Habitat Description: Forested River
Natural History Info: This spot off of Harrington Rd isn’t marked on any map, and is known to the locals as “The Black Hole”. This one particular spot in the creek is at least 10 feet deep, and is safe to jump in from the surrounding cliffs. Other than this one spot though, the creek is less than four inches deep.
What drew my attention: My friends and I were hanging out here for a fun afternoon in the sun, so this seemed like a good candidate for the assignment.

First Frost
9-19-14 - “First Frost” - There is no looking back now....Mother Nature stepped up her game...her pace...yesterday morning...when she invited back one of her cronies...the well known artist and purveyor of “worse things to come”....Jack......Jack Frost. He doesn’t seem so bad now....still a bit of a thorn...”Do I need to cover my tomato plants and hanging baskets?”.....all seems worth it under the blue skies of autumn as Jack uses the hillsides as his canvas...his palette loaded with reds, oranges, yellows...his brush creating a masterpiece with every stroke...such breathtaking beauty.
