Plant 1
As tropism is a growth response of a plant in relation to its external stimulus. Positive means that the plant grows in the direction of the origin of the stimulus, while negative growth directs opposing the stimulus. Therefore, roots have negative phototropism/positive gravitropism. Stems have positive phototropism/negative gravitropism. This quality brings leaves closer to sunlight and roots deeper down the soil where gravity takes the water. The orientation of the tree in the photo does not show clear signs of upward growth, suggesting that the slanting event happened within the last five~ten years.
